A garage at a residence on Spring Valley Road sustained significant damage Monday night.
According to Fire Chief Phillip Prater of the Centertown Fire Department they received a call about a garage on fire at the residence of Wayne Sinks on Spring Valley Road. Sinks told them that his Dodge Dakota Truck backfired in the garage causing the fire. The garage and truck was deemed a total loss. Also destroyed were some tools and personal property. Sinks was taken by private vehicle to River Park for treatment of smoke inhalation.
Centertown Fire Department was assisted by the North Warren Fire Department.
