Two Injured In Wreck Near The Mall

Two people were injured in a two car wreck, both involving Ford Escape’s, Wednesday afternoon near Three Star Mall.
According to Lieutenant Mark Mara of the McMinnville Police Dept. a 2018 Ford Escape, driven by 86 year old Patricia Morris, was coming from the 70S By-pass going to the mall when she ran a red light and struck a 2016 Ford Escape, driven by 77 year old Bertha Tindell. Morris was injured in the crash and was taken to River Park Hospital. Morris told Mara that she thought the light was green but witnesses told him that the light was indeed red. A passenger in the 2016 Escape, 24 year old Amber Sims was injured and taken to River Park. Mara said all passengers were wearing their seat belts and air bags were deployed.
Mara added that if you witness a crash it’s best to wait for an officer to give information. If you can’t call the non-emergency number 668-7000 and give dispatch information to be contacted later.
