With the mask mandates and statewide health orders expiring the McMinnville Board of Mayor and Alderman heard numerous letters about events in the downtown area.
Project Graduation Chairperson Tenarra Grissom requested permission for a parade for the Class of 2021 through downtown. It will be held on Sunday May 23. A similar event was held last May for the Class of 2020 during the pandemic.
County Commissioner Blaine Wilcher requested permission for a monthly cruise in at the Farmers Market Pavilion going on thru October. It was approved. Due to Back To The Strip this weekend they will not have the cruise in. The next one takes place June 5.
Also coming up this year is the 2021 triathlon. The event was cancelled last year.
In other business, the board approved a change for 14,359 dollars to add emergency lighting to the stairwell at the new Mllner Rcreation Center. An ordinance to amend water and sewer tap fees was passed. a 1 1/4 inch tap was raised from 850 to 1,145 dollars. Other fees include a 3/4 inch tap to 1,550 and a 1 inch to 2,250. 4inch sewer tap gos to 1,250 while a 6 inch is 1,550.
A resolution was passed for 2 Ram Tradesman Quad Cab’s for the water and sewer department in the amount of 46,632 dollars.
