According to the latest data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce. There have been 1,160,236 new claims since March of last year. For the week ending May 1, claims went down from the week before from 8,702 to 7,872, a decrease of 830 from last week. Continued claims decreased from 51,055 to 49,271, down 1,784 from last week. In Warren Co. there are 319 continued claims, up 42 from last week and 63 initial claims, unchanged from the previous week. White Co. has 146 continued claims, down 19 from last week and 28 initial claims, up 8. Van Buren has 25 continued claims and 3 initial claims.
