A local teenager was airlifted Sunday following a two-vehicle accident near Morrison.
According to Trooper Josh Sparkman of the Tennessee Highway Patrol around 3:52pm Sunday a 2012 Gray Ford F-150, driven by 36 year old John Brock of McMinnville, was traveling west on Highway 55 when he crossed the median and struck the drivers side of a 2016 black Jeep Patriot, driven by 17 year old Madelyn Stubblefield of McMinnville, traveling east. The crash caused extensive damage to the Patriot, causing the front tire to come off and traveling into the westbound lane and a 2013 black Ford Fusion, driven by 54 year old Dana Young of Tullahoma, came to rest on top of the tire. After extracting the tire Young was able to travel on. Sparkman said the jaws of life was used to extract Stubblefield from her vehicle and was airlifted from the scene to Erlanger Hospital. According to a family spource, she received multiple broken bones, a fractured femur and had surgery Sunday night to repair her spleen. Brock suffered some injuries and was taken by ambulance to River Park Hospital.
Sparkman said the Critical Incident Response Team was called in to investigate the scene. Charges are pending at the time and the investigation continues.
