A Smartt Station man was killed early Wednesday morning on Hennessee Avenue after losing control of his motorcycle.
According to Trooper Wade Myers of the Tennessee Highway Patrol 26 year old Damian Martin was traveling west on Smartt Station Road at a high rate of speed when he attempted a right turn on Hennessee Avenue and lost control and collided with a utility pole on the left side of the road. The motorcycle came to a rest on Smartt Station Road. Martin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Myers said that Martin was wearing a helmet but was not properly fastened resulting in his death.
