The Warren Co. Board of Commissioners met Monday night and passed the budget and property tax rate for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
The total budget is over 96.4 million dollars with over 56.6 million of the budget going to schools. The tax rate passed once again with no increase at 1.96 per 100 dollars of assessed value. Raises and bonuses will be distributed out to the full and part time employees. Appropriations for non profits were passed that included 10,000 dollars each for the volunteer fire departments and 14,000 for meals on wheels.
COunty Executive Jimmy Haley recognized Assessor of Property Beth Martin on being named the Middle Tennessee Assessor of the Year. Haley also recognized Chris Terry and Mary Walker with Back To The Strip. This past May they raised a record 60,000 dollars for Meals On Wheels. In its history they’ve raised over 278,000 dollars.
The board also set the June 2022 meeting for June 20.
