In his operations report to the Warren Co. Board of Education Monday night Director of Schools Grant Swallows announced that Warren Co. Schools will be returning to a 5 day a week in-person learning. Last school year the system was four day a week in-person with Friday a virtual learning day. Swallows said this will be the case unless Governor Lee declares another state of emergency. The virtual learning program, known as VIP, will be available for the upcoming school year. Signups will be announced soon.
As far as COVID-19 protocols Swallows said masks will be optional. He said it would be the students’ personal choice. Should a student test positive for the coronavirus then the students will be isolated and ones that come into contact will be quarantined. Swallows said that ESSER funds will be used to replace water fountains with water filling stations.
