In a discussion of the mask policy Tuesday night the McMinnville Board of Mayor and Alderman recommended that employees wear masks inside city buildings if the positive rate goes above 26 percent or higher. Right now masks are not required but can be worn voluntarily. As of Wednesday the rate was at 22 percent.
In other business, the board passed on first reading an ordinance that adds a provision for use of beauty salons and barber shops in high density residential areas.
In the Streets and Sanitation, the committee voted to amend that contractors who are remodeling homes haul off their own brush and debris instead of it being piled near the road of the property. The full board wil ltake up the matter in September.
Also the Finance Committee voted to give 40,000 in funding to Main Street McMinnville. Of that 35,000 would go to salaries and 5,000 for miscellaneous. The board will also take up the vote in September.
