A three car wreck on Old Shelbyville Road Saturday afternoon resulted in one fatality. According to Trooper Wade Myers of the Tennessee Highway Patrol around 12:05pm Saturday a 2015 Chevy Cruze, driven by 82 year old Earl Holland of Lavergne was coming off Old Wells Road attempting a right turn onto Shebyville Road when he pulled into the path of a 2009 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 29 year old Chase Hillis of Morrison. The Wrangler struck the Cruze, spun it around and collided with a 2017 Nissan Maxima, driven by 56 year old Deborah Walker of McMinnville. Holland’s car received extensive damage. His airbags deployed and he had to be extricated from his vehicle. Myers said that Holland was alert and talking to them and then went unconscious. He was transported by ambulance to River Park Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His passenger and wife, 79 year old Ruth Holland was also transported to River Park with minor injuries. Hillis, Walker, nor her passengers, 72 year old Pat Simms and her 13 year old granddaughter were not injured.
