Schools Reopen Tuesday

After closings schools last week due to increasing covid numbers and staffing issues Warren Co.students will return to school Tuesday. Director of Schools Grant Swallows said it was a decision he did no want to make because kids need to be in school but sickness and staffing were an issue. Last week 228 students and 23 staff were isolated, meaning they tested positive, and more than 1000 students were quarantined, meaning they were in close contact with someone who tested positive.
Swallows hopes with the time away that students got healthier and return with a concentration on their well being and educations.
Warren Co. football program is expected to resume Monday Sept. 6. Practice will be held at 3pm. 2 weeks ago Coach Matt Turner shut down the program due to increasing covid numbers among the team. They’ve had to cancel games with White Co. and Memphis Ridgeway. The season opener with Dekalb Co. has been moved to October 8.
