Wednesday Night Rain Floods Warren Co.

Torrential rainfall that moved through Wednesday night dumped as much as 5 to 6 inches of rain on most of Warren Co. flooding several roads.
Warren Co. Road Superintendent Levie Glenn and his crew have been surveying the damage Thursday and said there were a few trees down in certain parts of the county and roads that were covered, most notably the Bethany community on Old Nashville Highway and Kermit Turner Road. While most oficial totals range from 2.25 to 2.75 some areas received between 5 and 6 inches of rain. Glenn said his crew will be busy as they continue to survey county roads.
The flooding caused several areas to be without power around 9;15pm. They included Morrison, Viola, Fairview and Irving College areas. Officials with Caney Fork Electric said lightning striking a substation breaker was the cause for the outage. Crews quickly restored power to all who were affected in less than two hours.
