The McMinnville Board of Mayor and Alderman Tuesday night tabled to the next meeting an ordinance about increases in water and sewer tap fees. The committee two weeks ago said a three-quarter water tap fee ould increase to 1,550 dollars, while a one inch tap would cost 2,250 dollars. a four inch sewer tap would increase to 1,250 dolalrs while a six inch sewer tap would increase to 1,550 dollars. Alderman Steve Harvey and Mayor Ryle Chastain agreed that there needs to be increases but felt the proposed fees are too high. The board voted to table the ordinance to the April 13 meeting and discussed it further.
In other business, the board passed a resolution appointing Denning and Cantrell CPA’s to perform the annual audit for the City of McMinnville for the sum of 23,500 for 2021 and increase 2.2 percent for 2022 and 2023 at a cost of 24,000 dollars per year.
The board also passed a resolution to ratify and approved a change order for the Milner Recreation Center Renovation project in the amount of 32,193 dollars.
The board approved requests for the Fields Of Flags to be flown at the grassy lot on court square April 16-30. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. The board also approved Junior Auxiliary’s Sip and Saveur Tasting and Art Showcase to be held in downtown McMinnville on September 25 of this year from 6pm-9pm that evening.
