School Employees To Get 1,000 Dollar Stypen

Director of Schools Grant Swallows told the Warren Co. Board of Education members at their monthly school board meeting that all employees of the school system will get a one time stypen for all their hard work during the COVID pandemic. The money will come from the BEP, or Basic Education Program,funded by Gov. Bill Lee. Employees will receive a 1,000 dollar one time bonus. Swallows said it would be in their May pay period. Part of the ESSER 2.0 will also be used to pay employees. Warren Co. was awarded 8 million dollars from ESSER 2.0 to be used for capital projects. That money must be spend by Sept. 30, 2023.
Swallows also gave more good news to the board. With the new ESSER 3.0 approved Warren Co. was allotted 18.9 million that must be spent by Sept. 30, 2024. The board will get together and compile a list of projects that the money will be used for.. It must be approved by June 1.
