Warren County law enforcement and rescue personnel were called out Wednesday to rescue a horse and buggy, which had become stranded in high water on Petigap Road.
Rescue squad personnel, using a boat, were able to rescue the 17 year old driver of the buggy. He was waiting on top of the buggy when rescue personnel arrived. After rescuing the driver, personnel were working to free the horse from the water as well.
No one was injured.
With more rain in the forecast for the next two days, law enforcement is cautioning motorists not to try to drive across standing water. Several roads had to be closed Wednesday as they became impassible due to high water. High winds Tuesday night and Wednesday morning also caused problems as numerous trees and tree limbs were knocked down, with some blocking roadways.
